Text adventure links

  1. Classic Infocom Games Revived (Wayback Machine)
Also starts with the biblical quote that so suggests itself with regard to text adventures. Links to interactive fiction sites and resources, most of them broken.

  2. IF-Legends.Org (Wayback Machine)
A search engine for interactive fiction games, down since 2001.

  3. Infocom: Imagination sold and serviced here (Wayback Machine)
A tribute to Infocom and its products, although most of its links may be presumed broken.

  4. GET LAMP: the text adventure documentary
Included for its links page (some links broken).

  5. The Knight of Ruckus's Zork page (Wayback Machine)
Some Zork parodies including Genesis, text adventure style; walkthroughs and gameplay tips; screenshots of the graphical games; a history of the Zork adventures. Some images missing, but well-preserved.

  6. Magnetic Scrolls
Info, downloads and an interpreter for the titles of Magnetic Scrolls, in Italian.

  7. The Infocom Documentation Project
For the Infocom player in need of a map or manual.

  8. Adrift
The site to download the free text game engine Adrift, and many game titles written with it.

  9. The Santharian Dream
An online text adventure-slash-RPG set in the fantasy world of Santharia. Sadly, the game itself is now offline.

  10. Adventure Classic Gaming review: Spellcasting 301: Spring Break
A review of the last game in the Spellcasting series.

  11. Adventureland
Mission statement: "This site tries to list all adventure games (interactive fiction) produced over the years." No longer updated, but still up. Includes a page on emulators.

  12. Infocom - The Master Storytellers
All Infocom games listed in chronological order, all game authors listed and if possible linked to, and general information. Download: Zork I, II and III for Mac. Last updated in 2020, so links are likely to still work.

  13. Play Infocom games online
An absolute treasure trove of information about interactive fiction titles (not only by Infocom), although I haven't been able to play them in my browser.

  14. The Interactive Fiction Database
This exhaustive database lists text adventures old and new, as new games are still being made; publishes game reviews, and lets me play the games in my browser. When choosing and starting "Zork", I was surprised to find this was not Zork I, but the original, incorporating most of the material in the Zork Trilogy.
