Surprise! This screenshot is obviously edited; of the Gatchaman five, Joe had the least opportunity to come face to face with the Onna Taicho. Everyone saw "Anderson's secretary" (ep 31) except Joe, who had run off to sulk. Only Jun and Jinpei saw the Galactor captain in the Gezora eps. The pretty secretary of the "Sugare" company (ep 69), if that was indeed Katze in female form, was seen only by Jinpei and Ryu. Joe had a glimpse of a strange woman hitting the girl he'd just given a lift (and it was dislike at first sight) but apart from that, all he'd seen of the female Katze prior to this ep was the photograph of ep 88.
As a matter of fact, Joe, seeing the lift is occupied, has just turned away with a disgusted sigh to take the stairs. How fortunate that he should already be out of sight when the lift door opens to reveal precisely the kind of ditzy blonde he would fall for.
"Oh no - the dreaded woman Galactor captain!" is presumably what I'm supposed to think as a note of alarm sounds and the camera zooms in. Instead, my thoughts are "bad hair day" and "hasn't slept much lately".
Announcing herself as "it's me", she enters the fake doctor's office.
Hidden behind a curtain (and an iron door)...
...is a ridiculously large telescope with which she can see straight into Nambu's house. Very much in character, all he's seen to do is study and pore over books. Wild parties at Nambu's place? Nuh-uh.
Strangely (eep, this has to be the most out-of-character depiction of female Katze) the Onnataicho is very pleased with this. Presumably she thinks he'll be so engrossed in his studies that he won't notice the huge bug mecha breaking down the walls of his house until it's too late.
She takes her leave, and the ratty "doctor" sees her to the car, asking her to give his regards to Katze (snort).
It is only then that fate finally brings the two together (and how clever that Joe should recognize through a sheet of rain a character he only knows from a very old photograph and a rear view mirror glimpse) and Joe fumes: "I'll get you! Right after I've finished wasting precious time stamping on the doctor!"
